In 1928, André Lévêque presented his PhD thesis in Paris. The thesis was entitled "Les Lois de la Transmission de Chaleur par Convection" (or "The Laws of Convective Heat Transfer") and was published in the same year in "Annales des Mines (ou Recueil de Mémoires sur l'Exploitation des Mines et sur les Sciences et les Arts qui s'y Rattachent)".
The thesis discusses the problem of convective heat transfer and begins with a very complete review of contemporary research. The work is divided into eight chapters. Their titles are listed below.
"The aim of the following study is to describe our current knowledge of the complex laws governing heat transfer ... between a fluid and a wall".
